The Repower, Refuel and Rebuild America Forum was held at the Truman Library on April 6th in Independence Missouri. Opening remarks where made by Geoff Jolly, District Director for Congressman Emanuel Cleaver of Kansas City. The panel of speakers included Antonia Herzog, Ph.D. with the Natural Resources Defense Council, Bob Berkebile who is an architect at Berkebile Nelson Immenschuh McDowell, Steve Mahfood, past director of Missouri Department of Natural Resources, John Hensley of the Wind Capital Group, and Bridgette Williams, president of Kansas City AFL-CIO. Hosted by the Show Me Your Solutions Campaign (www.showmeyoursolutions.org) focused on how by investing in renewable sources of energy in addition to improving the efficiency of homes and buildings, economic growth will expand with new green jobs and will boost employment in Missouri while reducing our dependence on foreign oil.

The discussion also including information regarding federal energy policy including cap and trade legislation that is expected to be marked up in the Senate Energy and Commerce Committee towards the end of this month.
