I had an energy audit including a blower test on my house. I had the work done to add insulation and to cut air infiltration. Another blower test then showed my house had increased 32.5% in energy efficiency.

I have purchased a Toyota Prius, I've replaced all incandescent lights with florescent bulbs, I have the thermostat set 5 degrees lower than comfortable so when sitting use a throw to keep warm. I'm running errands either on the way to or from a destination and buying in quantity when appropriate to save trips. I'm using baking soda and vinegar instead of commercial cleaning supplies. I recycle everything recyclable, and pass on used furniture and clothing to charities. I edit a municipal newsletter and pass on tips to residents. I will be observing Earth Hour on March 18th and encouraging all residents in my municipality to do the same.

I am working on an urban windmill project. If the wind speeds prove high enough over the next 6 months, we will move forward and install a 10KW vertical turbine on the Scottish Rite Building located at Paseo and Linwood in Kansas City MO.
